The fair came this weekend to town and like every year, I took my kids to it. We have a small fair tradition, every time it comes or we go to one, we have to have a funnel cake. Hubby doesn't really enjoy the fairs nor he enjoys the funnel cakes but every year he takes us out and endures a few hours of being dragged around. At the end of the day we close with a stop to the funnel cake booth and we get a funnel cake for all of us (although, I can foresee that next year, I'll have to get 2 funnel cakes for us).
Little Benny is still too short to ride most of the rides and she gets the short-end of the stick when it comes to the rides. Wonderboy got to ride on a few more than her...and he is already dreaming on riding some of the most dangerous rides...I told him when he turns 20 and he doesn't live under my roof he can go on those. Kids! They definitely want to keep me on my toes and with my heart on my throat!
For now, I'll enjoy watching them ride the little ponies (clickety to see them bigger--can you see Little N sticking her tongue out?).
Picture above: we had a short rainstorm yesterday and in the middle of it, amidst the thunder and gray skies, we had the most beautiful rainbow arching from one mountain to the next, I tried to capture its beauty but I am afraid the picture doesn't do it justice. It was beautiful!

O.K. 2 things.... First I am surprised to be the first one to post today:0 and Second! I LOVE Funnel Cake too! I do the same thing and drag my husband around after visiting fairs and or Six Flags and Great America:) The times we have forgone the Funnel Cake I feel cheated:)

Hey, Sprite! You came over to my blog to ask about the bag I made for Tiger's Mom...
I assume you mean the round one, with a flower on it, and a little one attached to it...that was from the book
The Knitter's Bible - Knitted Bags
Claire Crompton
David and Charles, 2007
The bag itself is on pages 90-93: the pattern is only part of one page, but the pictures are lovely and take up the rest.
It is knitted of sport weight (Well, I had very very thin black stuff and doubled it for the body, and used Lion Brand Microspun for the flower.) You make two circles and sew them together, you make two little rectangles, embroider them and sew them together with a zipper, you make some strings and attach one to both bags, so the little one does not get lost, and one to the large one, for a handle. You could probably figure that part out from looking at it...
I did modify the pattern by adding a zipper for the large bag - it didn't originally call for one, but I thought it would be better for notions this way.
The pattern calls for single point needles, but in the future I would probably knit the round bag on double points, just two less seams to sew.
Probably any more or less flat knitted or croched flower could be subbed for the one they show, and you could use a little bit of a fancy yarn if you had some lying around. It says one ball of sportweight...and it has a pattern for a very romantic looking rose as an alternative to the daisy look...
If this does not answer your questions, come back and ask more!
