The booklet is out and being delivered!
Learn to Knit Cables on a Loom arrived at DA on Wednesday and it started shipping out the moment the box was opened.
Hubby brought me a copy home and I was extremelly impressed by the photography. Nice clear, detail oriented pictures. Some of you may be receiving your copy today or in the coming days. Here is a little sneak peek into some of what's inside. My pictures are not as good as the booklet.
This is the earflap hat. It comes into sizes for children and adults. I have a small head and the child size fits me (19").
There is also a baby sweater with a braid cable down the center.
It looks a lot cuter on the beautiful little model on the booklet.
What else...hmm, there are also some slipper socks (they are thick, thus the name).
A scarf with 2 cables next to each other, here is Lolita modeling it for us.
It is a relief to finally show you some of the items that I have knitted over the year. All of them at once, lol.
Oh, and if you are looking for the next issue of LKC. Swing by the website around noon today and you will find the Winter issue up and running. I have a pattern in there for a baby blanket that missed the box going to the publisher, but it is okay as now you are able to see it and (possibly) begin knitting it.

Dear Isela,
Congratulations on such a beautiful book!
I would love to get the cables book, but I live in France. Do you think you could adjust the price to include the International shipping extra? Thanks so much.

I'll be ordering from England soon, although I want a loom too. Would it be possible to get those shipped separately? I'm new to looming and the craft blog scene, so apologies if this should be in private email.
I'm really looking forward to cabling in any case! :)

Congratulations! The book looks fabulous. Love the hat. Love the scarf. Love it all.
I didn't preorder, so I won't be getting one in the next few days. I hope I can still order and get a copy.
Huggz!

My pre-ordered copy arrived TODAY!! Can't wait to finish all my holiday projects so I can dive into this new adventure!
Thanks again, Isela, for all the fun I'm having with looms and yarn. It really has been through your books, tutorials and DA Looms that I have learned enough to make things I'm proud to show off.
Have a great holiday!

absolutely beautiful cables my dear! What a blessing for loom knitters everywhere to have a resource such as you and your book(s)!

Now that I've had some time to look at the book in detail...
The projects are intermediate-level, which means a variety of stitches, shaping, and finishing, but don't let that scare you! There are excellent how-to photographs of each stitch which make it easy to refresh your memory as you work.
The cabling techniques are clearly illustrated, showing each step for cables over 2, 3, 4, and 6 stitches. Every peg is labeled in each photograph, taking all the guesswork out of the instructions.
There's also a lot of "bonus" information, such as instructions for felting, yarn weights, knitting abbreviations and symbols to help read the patterns, a standard/metric conversation table, and a knitting needle converstion chart. Great resources for any foray into knitting!
And the projects! The photographs clearly show the details of the stitches, and unlike many books I've seen, these are all for things that I would actually want to make! From the Adestan slipper socks to the Fairamay shawl, each project is more enticing than the last.
I've been mentally inventorying my yarn stash... what shall I cable first?

Got my copy yesterday and am trying to refrain from casting on right now. I have to finish a baby blanket for my SIL first.
Isela I think your pictures are great. I think you have a better eye for catching the details in the projects. Models are nice and all (and that baby is cute) but show me the cables.
cheers,
Lenora

Isela -
I really appreciate that your newest book features yarns that are readily available to everyone. How fabulous is it to grab from the stash of Caron or Lionbrand or Patons to get a project going?! Fabulous, I tell you!
