Kool Aid Stir, A Class, & some tidbits
After waiting for a few days, my koolaid yarn finally decided to dry. Now, I have nice little stacks of yarn--after spending a few minutes hours winding them into center pull balls. Thankfully hubby was around to help me with the yarn winder. After the first ball, he asked, "why don't you have one of the electric ones?", to which I simply said, "they are expensive, but it can make a great Christmas gift :)", to which he said "great, now I don't have to find a present...it is all set". Yippeee!!!
The colors are not deep, however, they are fun looking. I decided I like the effect of the microwaved ones a bit better. The yellow in this picture is the Mango flavor, the picture shows it too bright, the actual color is very soft, with some deep yellow bits here and there.
The green is my most favorite-I think. It has little spots with very light green, then it goes into lime green, then dark lemon green--it is very psychedelic.
The other two have not been swatched yet, but I think I have an idea of how they are going to look when knitted. The yarn will most definitely become socks...the green may become a pair of fingerless mitts.
Speaking of the kool aid, I took these babies yesterday to Nite in Knots at Yarn Today and they caused quite a stir. Such a stir that next Thursday, I'll be teaching a hands-on little class at the yarn shop. I am shaking...I have only done this one single time and now I will have the chance to show others how to do it. I must dye some more this weekend so I can really learn what am doing. It is exciting, a lot of the other knitters wanted to try the kool aid method. I better go and buy some stock at kool aid..quick!
In other very exciting news, I have won 2 contests in one week! I am so excited. In the first one, I will be receiving a copy of the Jaeger Trinity Pattern Book
In the second contest, I have won some more yummy Noro yarn, this time, I am going to use some of it to make a pair of Voodoo Wrist Warmers. It is so great to finally win something....of course, I had to answer some questions--a lot of questions and get them right, but it was well worth it.
Like many of you out there, the anticipation is grand right now. I can't wait to receive the latest IK. I have some already picked out:
