Last Minute Slouchy Hat Loom-Along. In part 1, we covered the first 8 rounds of the pattern. In part 2, we will cover Rounds 9-12.
Round 9: *yo, k2tog; rep from * to the end of round.
(How to: *Move the loop from the first peg over to the second peg, first peg is empty, second peg has 2 loops on it. E-wrap the first peg thus creating the YO. Then ewrap the second peg, lift the bottommost two loops off the peg. Repeat from * to the end of round)
Round 10: Knit with the e-wrap method.
Round 11: Move stitch marker one peg to the left (peg 2). This peg (peg 2) becomes Peg 1. *yo, k2tog; rep from * to the end of round. (How to: see Row 9 on the break down).
Round 12: Knit with the e-wrap method.
Part 3 will be posted next week--it will cover the Gather Bind off.
Video Loom-a-long for the Last Minute Slouchy Hat is up!
In part one, we cover set up of the loom and we work through the first 8 rounds of the hat. At the end of Part I, you will have the brim done--the part with the ribbing of the hat.

Another gorgeous yarn came rolling down my way. Tinseltown yarn. I couldn't pass it up! It kept taunting me with its fluffy, silvery pleats. I had to have it! I saw it a few weeks ago at my local yarn store and I just couldn't forget about it. Days will pass and the fluffy pleats kept coming back to my mind. Finally, this weekend I gave up and went and got a couple of skeins. I was not disappointed! I LOVE IT!
If you are a needle knitter, it is pretty simple to use and you can find a few videos online on how to use it. Loom knitters, don't despair. I've got you covered. I have written a pattern and prepared a video for you. Again, this is the way I use the yarn, there are other ways out there so feel free to experiment and find the one you like the most.
An oldie pattern that I had buried. I did it about 4 years ago and in changing websites it got lost in the shuffle. I hope you enjoy it! I did mine on a fine gauge knitting loom, the adult fine gauge hat loom by Decor Accents, however, if you have any other fine gauge loom with at least 45 pegs, you it should work just dandy.
Ballband dishcloth on the knitting looms! The pattern is fairly simple and works beautifully on the knitting looms. Give it a whirl!
Materials
Knitting Loom: Fine gauge knitting loom with at least 45 pegs. Sample was knit on a Décor Accents, Inc fine gauge adult hat loom.
Yarn: About 100 yds of DK weight cotton yarn. Sample used CotLin in Surf and Linen.
Notions: Knitting tool
Gauge: Not necessary
Pattern notes:
A=Main color
B=Contrasting color
Worked clockwise around the loom: 1st row must go from right to left.
DIRECTIONS
Using color A, cast on 45sts.
Row 1: Using A, knit.
Row 2: Knit.
Row 3: Join B, k4, skip 1 with yarn behind the peg *k5, skip 1 with yarn behind peg; rep from * to last 4sts, k4.
Row 4: P4, skip 1 with yarn behind peg, *k5, skip 1 with yarn behind peg; rep from * to last 4sts, k4.
Row 5: P4, skip 1 with yarn behind peg, *k5, skip 1 with yarn behind peg; rep from * to last 4sts, k4.
Row 6: Repeat Row 4.
Row 7: Using A, knit.
Row 8: Knit.
Row 9: Using B, k1, skip 1 with yarn behind peg, *k5, skip 1 with yarn behind peg; rep from * to last st, k1.
Row 10: P1, skip 1 with yarn behind peg, *k5, skip 1 with yarn behind peg; rep from * to last st, k1.
Row 11: P1, skip 1 with yarn behind peg, *p5, skip 1 with yarn behind peg; rep from * to last st, p1.
Row 12: Repeat Row 10.
Rep Rows 1-12 rows: 4 times (for a total of 5 repetitions)
Rep Rows 1-8.
Bind off with Basic bind off method.
Alright, so it is not falling, but I did grab some yarn and put something together! I have had this pattern done for a few months now and I have been putting it off and off until finally I decided to get off my duff and finishing it up. Actually, I have been tapering so I have had a little more free time on my hands.
So just like that, I have added a new pattern to LoomKnit.com, the soft and cozy Moss Stitch Pillow. It is a quick project that will bring satisfaction and a little extra to your home decor! (click on the picture to be taken to see more pattern information).
And...since I am still tapering for my next marathon, I have been knitting another pair of socks to go with the other 60+ pairs that I have around the house...one can never have enough knitted socks!

Can you spot the little something coming...
Thank you all who helped me find the perfect name for Nyah's little vest. At the end, Prepster just kept coming back to my mind. I knew that it was meant to be when I was describing it to one of my friends and all I could think about was the word Preppy!
I hope you like it as much as I do and as much as Nyah does. The pattern is only available in one size 4T. However, I am working out some math right now to provide sizes in 2T and 3T. The pattern is available at LoomKnit.com in the Free Monthly Pattern area.

A little something I have been working on for the past two days. Since Sam started school I have had a bit of time in the afternoons with nothing to do, so a little loom knitting has been going on.
Little Nyah had a lot of fun posing for these pictures. She really loves the camera, I just wished I had better lighting for her.

To show you my appreciations, here is another freebie pattern. These are just so cute--tiny little things and they work up so fast. They will make a great present to a Mommy and baby. Note, I have only used the yarn that I provided below and with gauge provided, if you substitute yarn, the size will vary.

Materials:
Yarn: 50 yards of Bulky Weight yarn (Weight 6). Sample was knit using KnitPicks Swish in Honey Dew
Loom: Pink Long Loom by Provo Craft and 1 Loom Clip by Provo Craft
Notions: knitting tool, tapestry needle, 2 size 8 double pointed needles
Size: 3-6mos
Gauge: 3.5sts and 4.5rows=1 in stockinette stitch
Abbreviations
k=knit (in knit stitch or flat stitch) not e-wrap
p=purl
sts=stitches
bo=bind off
PATTERN NOTES
Wrap =Lift the loop off the peg. Hold it with your fingertips. Take working yarn to the inside of the loom and e-wrap the peg. Place the loop back on the peg.
DIRECTIONS
Make 2
Prepare loom: Insert Loom Clip in the Long Loom to have a circle with 16 pegs.
Cast on 16sts, join to work in the round.
Rnd 1-9: *k2, p2; rep from * to the end of rnd.
Rnd 10: k
Rnd 11-20: *p2, k2; rep from * to the end of rnd
**Short Row Shaping for Heel-(knitted as a flat panel on 8 pegs)
Knit from peg 1-7. Wrap and turn on peg 8.
Knit from peg 7 to peg 2. Wrap peg 1.
Knit from peg 2 to peg 6. Wrap peg 7.
Knit from peg 6 to peg 3. Wrap peg 2.
Reverse Short Row Shaping for Heel
Knit from peg 3 to peg 7. (Lift both loops on peg 7 as one.)
Knit from peg 7 to peg 2. (Lift both loops on peg 2 as one.)
Knit from peg 2 to peg 8. (Lift both loops on peg 8 as one.)
Knit from peg 8 to peg 1. (Lift both loops on peg 1 as one.)**
FOOT--knitted in the round
Work in the round in knit stitch until foot measures 3 inches from back of heel.

Repeat instructions from ** to **
FINISHING
Place stitches from pegs 8-1 on one double pointed needle
Place stitches from pegs 16-9 on the second double pointed needle.
Graft the stitches with the kitchener stitch.
TO WEAR
Fold down the cuff--the row of knit stitch will help to provide a nice fold

And did you see the latest Vogue Knitting magazine...knitted bangles! We were so on top of things with our issue of LKC Magazine! Loom Knit your bangles too! I love the argyle bangle that the model is wearing...so neat! Must knit one up.
No need to look too long, here are two more. These were in the Summer issue of LKC and now they are in the Archive issue but you can get them here, free, or by visiting Decor Accents and going through the FREE Pattern section there.
First up, we have the Schooner Socks. They were done on an Extra Fine Gauge sock loom but you can adapt the pattern to any loom that has a 4-stitch peg count. It can even be done on the Round Blue KK loom, or even the new Wonder Sock Loom!
Next, we have the easy-peasy Stripey Goodness hat. A little hat that is easy to make, yet it has a flat top for a little bit of challenge. The hat was done on a Fine Gauge loom but you can adapt it and loom it on any other gauge loom as long as you use the yarn specified for that loom.
